| Why do I have to explicitly click on "print my email address" and "print my telephone number" if I want my ad to appear in the paper ? Can't you do that automatically ? | We could do it automatically, but it wouldn't be right: We here at the Penny Pincher Newspaper have made a commitment to respect your privacy: This is why we use an internal email system for buyers to first contact you, so your email address isn't harvested by spammers or your phone numbers by telemarketers: So yes, it is two extra clicks, but it gives everyone a choice as to how much contact information is given out in the paper for your ads. | Dec 09, 2008 | |
| Can I post all my items in one ad, or do I have to make a separate ad for each item ? | You can do either, but making a separate ad for each item will help sell your item faster by ensuring more people see it. This forum post should help explain it. | Nov 24, 2008 | |
| Can I post ads for Pyramid Schemes, Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) sites or similar ? |
No, you cannot: Given there are so many other sites for the posting of these types of ads, the PennyPincherNewspaper has a firm policy against these types of ads. We are here to help the buying and selling of individual items from private citizens and legitimate businesses. While we realize many MLM businesses are indeed legitimate, there are, unfortunately, a great many of them that are not or simply take advantage of those who cannot spend eighty hours a week on them. We will delete without warning any an all MLM and pyramid ads posted to the site. Any user repeatedly posting the same or similar ads will have their accounts deleted, as well. |

Is there a way that the Display Name can be edited/changed per ad (sometimes we may list items for friends)? |
Technically, this is very easy to do, however, it also defeats the purpose of verified accounts :( Sadly, with all free sites like ours, there will be those who would fraudulantly change names to appear like someone else after they've registered.) Your best bet, if you do a lot of items for other people, is to create a second account, expressly for this purpose. | Sep 05, 2008 | |
| How many FREE ads can I post on PennyPincherNewspaper.com ? | As many as you want! All we ask is that you do not post the same ad more than once - If you want your ad to appear near the top of a listing again, all you have to do is log into your account and click "Renew my ad"! (Your ad must be older than three days to renews it, however, just to give everyone a chance to have their ads at the top) | Aug 06, 2008 | |
| Can I add a picture? |
Yes, you can. Your images will automatically be resized to 250 x 250 pixels to keep the ads fast to download, as well as a clean layout. Remember - an item sells easier and faster with a picture! If you need a free, open-source (i.e. free) image editor, we recommend The Gimp |

| Can I link to another website in my ad ? |
Of course! Many people have their own website with more information about their items for sale. Our purpose here is to help you sell your items more quickly, so if you have a website with more information, by all means, add a link to the body of your ad (HTML is permitted in ad bodies). If you need help with putting HTML code in your ad, please Contact us and we will be glad to help! |

| Why was my ad edited ? | Sometimes, we will edit the category of an ad to a better fit, correct the spelling or capitalization of names or cities or minor edits like that. We will never edit your price, item name or description, unless it is to remove offending content, or at your request. | Jul 29, 2008 | |
| What is the Penny Pincher Newspaper's position on Spam ? |
We don't tolerate it. EVER. Anyone using the PennyPincherNewspaper.com to spam, or spamming to others advertising their ads on PennyPincherNewspaper.com will not only have their accounts here terminated, but their username, email address and IP address will be forwarded to both their ISP and to several abusive email blocking providers. There are more than enough people who legitimately want to see your items for sale that you do not need to force it on those that do not. |

| Will you use my email address to send me unsolicited email or advertisements or spam ? |
If you did not check off the question "YES, I would like to receive the occasional promotional email from the Penny Pincher Newspaper or it's advertisers" when you signed up (and you can change it if you did or didn't), then will not send you any commercial email. For those who do check this option, we may, at some point in the future, send you email from paid advertisers, but we do not give your email address to anyone. All email from our site - commercial or site updates - come from our own custom email software. No one but us will ever see your email address (unless you put it in the body of one of your ads). When someone clicks on "Respond to seller", they fill out a form that sends email to you from our server - They'll only see your email address if you reply to them - not before. |

| What if I don't want to use my real email address ? |
This is a valid concern and an easy one to address: There are many free email providers out there that you can sign up with just to use with our site (or any other). For example: There are hundreds of other, free, email providers out there. You may want to start looking at EmailAddresses.com Once you get your free email address, you may use it here, as well as anywhere else you'd rather not use your primary email address. |

| I'm having problems either registering, verifiying my account or posting an ad - How do I get help ? | Easy - Just use our Contact Us form and describe your problem. Chances are you will get a response back within the hour, if it's during normal business hours, or the very next day, at the latest. | Jul 21, 2008 | |
| How long does my ad stay up / Can I renew it or post it again ? |
Your ad stays on the site for ten days after you posted it, after which it goes "inactive" - It is not deleted from the site and is still visible within your account login. To renew or refresh your ad, all you have to do is click on "Refresh Ad" inside the "My Account" section - Your ad will automatically be renewed for another ten days, saving you the trouble of posting it again. You may do this as many times as you like, until your item is sold or until you have found what you were seeking. |

| Who is the user/seller "PP Paper" ? | PP Paper represents a variety of people. Many people prefer to mail in or drop off their ads at the Penny Pincher Newspaper office in downtown Pembroke. Our staff then enter the ads online and in our print edition. | Jul 17, 2008 | |
